From Planning Dreams to Living Them: The Wedding of Bettina & Joseph

We’re always extra excited when one of our own says “I do”, and celebrating Joseph & Bettina of Busy Bees Events made this feature especially sweet. For years, Bettina has been the steady hand behind countless “best days ever” the one who transforms a couple’s vision into something even more beautiful than they imagined. So when it came time to plan her own wedding to Joseph, the stakes felt wonderfully high. It was a day that was every bit as magical, personal, and unforgettable as the ones she’s spent her career creating for others.

A Backyard Made for Forever

The setting alone tells you everything about this wedding’s heart. Rather than a traditional venue, Bettina and Joseph chose Joseph’s family backyard as their backdrop. This was a decision that immediately set the tone for everything that followed.

“It made it incredibly special to us,” Bettina shares. “Since we’re both from Florida, we wanted to incorporate citrus elements. Our tangerine place cards were a little nod to our roots.”

Those vivid tangerine place cards became one of the wedding’s most talked about details: bright, cheerful, and deeply Floridian. They were a small but perfectly considered touch that grounded the entire aesthetic in something real and personal.

A Design That Tells Their Story

Bettina approached her own wedding the way she approaches every event, with intention, layering meaning into every detail. The design wove together three distinct but harmonious threads: the lush, tropical spirit of their Florida upbringing, a whimsical garden sensibility that has long been central to Bettina’s aesthetic eye, and a quietly coastal influence inspired by Joseph himself.

Joseph is a captain, and that nautical thread runs subtly through the decor. Most notably, in the scalloped chargers that graced each place setting, sourced through Different Look Rentals. It’s the kind of detail only the most attentive guests might identify by name, but everyone felt: something refined, something that spoke of open water and easy elegance.

The linens were handled beautifully by Atlas Event Rentals, whose pieces helped bring the backyard setting to life and turning a beloved family space into a fully realized wedding environment without losing any of its warmth.

The Event Group brought Bettina’s Disco Garden Dream to life with sparkling disco balls suspended over the dance floor, while also handling every last bloom and botanical detail of the floral design. Joel from The Event Group and Steven from Elegant parties did all the masterminding.

Together, these design and rental elements created a wedding that felt simultaneously lush and breezy, personal and polished.

The Details That Made It Theirs

No one left hungry thanks to the delicious bites from Peacock’s Pantry Catering, which had guests going back for seconds. Meanwhile, Bettina and Joseph’s beloved pups took center stage as cake toppers, a decision that instantly charmed every guest. The fur babies had also been woven into the earlier moments of the day, ensuring these cherished family members were present throughout, not just perched on buttercream.

Guests captured the magic all night long at the photo booth by Dipp Photo Booth. Such a fun, interactive moment that gave everyone a keepsake from the celebration.

As the night wound into its later hours, guests were treated to one of Joseph’s favorites: late night bites from La Sandwicherie, the legendary Miami institution. And to keep the dancing going, Aroma Espresso was on hand to fuel the night with late night espresso.

The Night They’ll Never Forget

If the design was the soul of the wedding, the Heatwave Band was its heartbeat. A dear friend of the couple, the band brought an energy to the dance floor that guests simply couldn’t resist  rocking through a setlist of the couple’s favorite songs until the night reached a truly unforgettable peak.

They crowd surfed.

Yes, really. The bride and groom, carried on the hands of their guests, above a dance floor full of people who love them. It’s the kind of spontaneous, joyful moment that no amount of planning can manufacture, and yet somehow felt like the most fitting ending to a day built entirely around who Bettina and Joseph are.
