Azure & Zest: An Amalfi-Inspired Celebration in South Florida
Set in South Florida, Azure & Zest is a curated editorial inspired by a couple planning their destination wedding in Positano, Italy. Before boarding a plane for the Amalfi Coast, they envisioned something equally meaningful at home: an intimate celebration that would gather loved ones stateside while capturing the romance of their Italian “I do.”
Destination weddings continue to captivate modern couples drawn to historic villas, sweeping sea views, and the kind of atmosphere that feels both intimate and cinematic. But alongside that trend is a beautiful evolution—hosting a second celebration back home. Not a replica of the wedding day, but a thoughtful extension of it.
And here in South Florida, that extension feels effortless.
Rather than waiting for Italian shores to bring their vision to life, this couple infused South Florida with the spirit of Positano. The design unfolded in layers of cobalt and crisp white, echoing the tiled terraces and sunlit facades of the Amalfi Coast. Lemon-laced details nodded to the citrus groves of southern Italy, while sculptural florals featuring citrus branches and dried elements created an organic, coastal texture. Ceramic vessels, artisanal paper goods, and layered linens added warmth and depth to the tables cape, blending Mediterranean charm with modern edge.
Every element felt intentional—bespoke menus with textured finishes, hand-painted tile motifs, zesty color moments woven throughout. Together, they told a story not just of a wedding abroad, but of the joy that builds before it.
This Amalfi-inspired vision was thoughtfully brought to life by South Florida Wedding & Event Planner Karla Eifler with K Event Studio, who layered Mediterranean textures, citrus details, and sculptural florals into a design that felt transportive yet effortless.

Bringing the Amalfi Coast to South Florida
For couples marrying in Italy, recreating that atmosphere at home feels natural—and South Florida offers the perfect canvas. With its coastal venues, warm air, and vibrant design scene, the city lends itself seamlessly to a European summer aesthetic.
Amalfi-inspired celebrations often embrace:
-
Crisp white and blue palettes
-
Lemon motifs and citrus-forward floral installations
-
Hand-painted tiles and Mediterranean textures
-
Soft candlelight layered over coastal linens
-
Italian-inspired menus featuring fresh seafood, handmade pasta, and limoncello cocktails
The result is transportive without feeling staged—an homage rather than a replica.

A Celebration Rooted in Connection
These local gatherings aren’t about repeating vows or re-creating ceremony moments. Instead, they focus on connection. Couples often skip formalities and lean into an evening of toasts, mingling, and storytelling—sometimes sharing photos or video from the destination wedding itself.
It becomes less about structure and more about atmosphere. Guests arrive ready to celebrate, not observe. The tone is warm, relaxed, and deeply personal.

Why Couples Are Embracing Two-Part Celebrations
As weddings become more experience-driven and guest lists more intentional, separating the wedding from the larger celebration feels refreshingly modern. An Amalfi Coast ceremony offers intimacy and romance. A Florida-based gathering offers accessibility and community. Together, they create a layered experience that honors both the couple’s dream setting and the people who shaped their journey.
Azure & Zest is ultimately a love letter—to Italy, to South Florida, and to the idea that celebration doesn’t have to happen in just one place. With thoughtful design and a hint of Mediterranean flair, even a stateside evening can carry the feeling of a summer along the Amalfi Coast.
