Melanie & Jordan’s Meaningful Wedding at Their Family Home

For Melanie and Jordan, there was no venue more meaningful than home. Their wedding took place at Melanie’s family property, a place already filled with years of memories and milestones. Melanie celebrated her bat mitzvah there, as did her brother, making the decision to add her wedding day to the property’s history especially significant.

The celebration was planned by Sharon Goldman Events, who had a personal connection to the bride and her family long before wedding planning began. Sharon described Melanie and Jordan as “sweet, giggly and natural together,” and worked closely with the couple to create a day that reflected their personalities while embracing the warmth and familiarity of the setting.

A Backyard Wedding That Truly Felt Like Home

Rather than transforming the property into something completely different, the wedding leaned into what made the setting so special in the first place. The home, the family and the experience of welcoming everyone into their backyard became central to the celebration.

Even the food reflected that sense of comfort. Interactive food stations gave guests plenty to experience throughout the evening, including a dedicated “comfort station” featuring three comforting dishes served in individual crocks and bowls. It was personal, inviting and perfectly suited to a wedding centered around home and family.

Petal Productions brought the floral design to the celebration, adding another layer of beauty to the familiar setting. Their florals complemented the outdoor property while helping the backyard feel elevated for the occasion. Rather than taking away from the natural surroundings, the floral details helped frame the spaces where Melanie and Jordan celebrated with the people closest to them.

Family was woven into other moments throughout the night, too. Jordan honored his Latin heritage and his mother by choosing a Latin song for their mother son dance, creating another personal moment within a day filled with them.

And Cue the Sunset

Then came a moment no one could have planned.

Sharon explained how the officiant stood with their back toward the horizon, and could tell from the guests’ reactions that something incredible was happening behind them. Sharon joked that if the officiant would have turned around, they would of understood why.

And cue the sunset!!!

The sky became a stunning backdrop over the family property, creating one of the most memorable scenes of the evening. New Rez Media captured the celebration from above with drone footage, showing the sunset, the property and the entire wedding coming together from a completely different perspective.

That footage feels particularly meaningful for a wedding like Melanie and Jordan’s. It did more than document how beautiful the celebration looked. It captured the place where so much of Melanie’s family history has unfolded and preserved what it looked like as another milestone was added to it.

For Melanie and Jordan, their wedding wasn’t about finding the perfect venue. They already had it. The family home, the property and the memories attached to it made their backyard the most meaningful place they could have chosen to begin this next chapter together.
