Jackie & Luke’s Colorful Florida Keys Wedding, Complete With Hemingway’s Famous Cats
Jackie and Luke’s Florida Keys wedding was full of color, personality, and a few very special four legged guests. Surrounded by their favorite people at the iconic Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West, their May 15th celebration brought together bright florals, lush tropical greenery, an outdoor dance floor, and plenty of moments that felt completely true to them.
And then, of course, there were the cats. The Hemingway Home is home to more than 60 resident cats, many of whom are descendants of the original polydactyl cats Ernest Hemingway kept while living on the property. Most have the famous six toes, and they have become a beloved part of the historic Key West landmark. The cats make appearances when they feel like it, choosing for themselves when they want to join the festivities or make their way into a wedding photo. Jackie and Luke’s day was no exception. The sweet tuxedo cat pictured was Betty Grable, while another tabby featured in their photos was Etta James, both named after departed Hollywood stars.
Adding even more personality to the celebration, Talia of Canvas & Confetti painted live for guests, creating a one of a kind piece of art as the day unfolded. From colorful blooms and tropical surroundings to unexpected feline photo crashers, Jackie and Luke’s wedding was a celebration that felt playful, personal, and distinctly Key West.
